A farm-and-ranch lender Tips helped organize in 1919, establishing his financial credibility before founding the glass company
Part of Charles Tips’ career between his WWI service and the founding of the glass factory — evidence he had established financial and banking credibility before starting the company. A farm-and-ranch lending institution.
Per Tips’ own account, the bank made farm and ranch loans all over Texas; Tips ran his part of the operation with headquarters in San Antonio (whether the bank itself was headquartered in San Antonio or Dallas is not stated) [ev-0041]. He helped organize it in 1919, after returning from WWI Army service, but kept describing Three Rivers as his “greatest interest.” [ev-0041]
