President of the Hoffmann-Hayman Coffee Company (H&H) of San Antonio, representing the customer side of the Three Rivers Glass business. H&H’s 1932 order — a quarter-million “Crystalvac” vacuum-packed jars — is one of the best-documented single sales in the company’s history.

Quoted directly in a June 10, 1932 San Antonio Register article explaining the rationale for the Crystalvac vacuum-packed container: “to make it more possible for our customers to have the freshest of coffee.” [ev-0040] The Menger family also owned the Menger Hotel in San Antonio, per the same research.
