John Matthijetz, bottle packer at Three Rivers Glass whose 1971 letter corroborates the post-foreclosure Tips Glass venture

A rank-and-file Three Rivers Glass Factory employee (bottle packer and carton assembler, August 1936–1937) whose eyewitness account independently corroborates the Tips Glass Sales Corporation story from the employee side. His 1971 letter to Thelma Lindholm [ev-0041] is the primary corroborating source for a Houston-based glass venture Tips attempted after the Ball Brothers foreclosure, funded partly by employee payroll withholding in exchange for stock that ultimately “never got started.”

Worked through the exact window of the foreclosure (August 1936 through 1937). [ev-0041] Left a detailed, granular description of the bottle-packing process. [ev-0041] Reports having stock withheld from his pay for a Houston venture that never launched — direct employee-level evidence of Tips’ post-foreclosure attempts to stay in the glass business.
